To explain how the ‘split’ works this breeding pen has a Chocolate Orpington cockerel with Black Orpington hens. This means their offspring are
· 50% chocolate hens
· 50% black males WHO ALL CARRY THE CHOCOLATE GENE.
The pictures below are of our actual breeding stock. The parents, as you can see from the pictures, are top exhibition quality so are perfect if showing is your goal.
All of our poultry live in our own purpose built units and have regularly moved runs on fresh grass allowing them to free range whilst ensuring that different breeds are kept separate keeping the breed true. They are fed on a non-GM breeder pellet, which is specifically designed to keep the adults in prime breeding health so increasing fertility and producing strong lively chicks.
All our poultry are DEFRA registered.
