Characteristics
The Turkish Angora is a graceful and elegant cat that often becomes very attached to thier owner. The Turkish Angora usually gets along well with other cats and dogs. They are highly adaptable and can even adjust to a travelling lifestyle. The Turkish Angora has a soft voice and can be talkative a times. Although this breed has a gentle and loving side, they also have a lively and energetic one. Give them a garden to roam in and you will have a well balanced, healthy and affectionate pet. Unlike most cats, the Turkish Angora enjoys water.

Grooming
Brushing once a week will help maintain a shiny coat. However, during shedding season brushing should be increased.

History
The Turkish Angora is thought by many to be among the most ancient of the naturally-occurring breeds of cat. There are many theories about the original origins of this breed. It is thought that the Turkish Angora came from the Lake Van region of eastern Anatolia (the ancient name for Turkey) and is today, the distant cousin of the Turkish Van cat. This breed may be the oldest longhaired breed in the world.
