Description: Long elegant body, shorthaired
Size: The Korat is medium sized
Weight: 2.5 - 5 kg

Characteristics
This breed is active and playful but does not like loud noises or commotion. Korats tend to be quiet and gentle with a kind hearted temperament. They are best suited to a quiet home where they can plod around as they wish. Karats are not very friendly towards other cats or animals. This breed requires lots of attention and can be reserved towards strangers.

Grooming
The Korat has a short coat and does not require any special grooming. A weekly groom with a soft brush will be sufficient

History
The Korat originated in Thailand and is thought to be one of the oldest cat breeds. The Thai’s believe the Korat is sacred and named it, “Si-Sawat” which when roughly translated means “good fortune”.  This breed arrived in the UK in the early 1970’s.
