This farm cat is a wonderful companion and is recommended to those who like smaller cats. The La Perm's temperament is very bold, inquisitive and friendly. They are tactile cats and enjoy being stroked. Indoor living is preferable. Grooming The La Perm is low maintenance; this is because the coat doesn't usually shed. La Perm's curls hold the hair, much like that of the Poodle dog. A weekly brush will be sufficient for this breed. To help maintain the curls, bathing and towel drying is recommended. History The La Perm originated in America and are thought to be descended from barn cats. These dog-like cats have medium length curly hair. The breed is recognised by the TICA and was published in the breed standard in 1996.
