They are extremely extroverted and can be very vocal. The Siamese has a very strong personality and is rarely peaceful or calm. This breed has a real presence and absolutely adores company. They can become possessive and tend to follow their owners everywhere for attention. They are the kind of breed you either hate or adore. This is not the cat for you if you are at work all day. Grooming The Siamese will not require a great amount of grooming and a weekly groom with a soft brush will be sufficient. History The Siamese is probably the most recognisable breed among all domesticated cats. This is a very old breed and has been mentioned in a manuscript in the 13th century. The first standard for the Siamese was developed by the GCCF in 1892 and in 1901 the Siamese Cat Club was created in England. Siamese cats were once sacred and are said to have guarded the Buddhist temples in Thailand, where they first originated. There are many colours available with the modern day Siamese, including: the Seal and Blue points, Chocolate, Lilac and also Red, Cream, Tortie and Tabby points.
