General Description: Solid and compact, short, ticked coat Size: The Singapura is small to medium sized Weight: 2 - 3 kg Characteristics The Singapura is the lightest of all domestic cats. What they lack in size they certainly make up for with character. This breed is extremely loving and affectionate and at times, can seem to demand attention. The Singapura is an excellent hunter and just loves to play outside. Grooming The Singapura does not require a great deal of maintenance. A weekly groom with a soft brush will be sufficient. History The Singapura gained its name from its country of origin, Singapore. It is believed they lived in the gutters, which rings true for explaining it being a lot smaller than most other domestic short hairs. The TICA recognised the breed in 1984, followed by the CFA in 1988. The Singapura has not yet been recognised by the FIFe. This breed is relatively rare in the United States, even though it was developed there.
