General
Weight: Between 2 and 3 kg
Description: Very dense, glossy hair of a brownish-white colour, evenly interspersed with longer dark brown hair. Stocky, thickset frame with a broad, muscular rear and hind legs and a short neck.

Characteristics
The Argente Brun is a very gentle rabbit that does not shy away from contact with humans.

Grooming
As with all other rabbit breeds, grooming must form a regular part of the Argente Brun’s care routine in order to avoid any hair becoming matted, which could cause the rabbit great discomfort and can often lead to sores or infections.


History
Along with all the Argente rabbits, this is one of France’s rarest and oldest breeds of rabbit. Common a hundred years ago, these rabbits were enormously popular among the French peasants that reared them both for their luxurious hair as well as for their meat.
