Description: Argente rabbits are born with completely black hair, that silvers with age, showing these adult traits from the age of about four months.

Characteristics
Incredibly gentle and calm, the Argente de Champagne is now rather rare. Its distinctive coat makes it a remarkable and very attractive animal.

Grooming
As with all breeds of rabbit, grooming is an integral part of the Argente de Champagne’s upkeep in order to avoid any hair becoming matted, which could cause the rabbit great discomfort and can often lead to sores or infections.

History
The Argente de Champagne originates from the region of Champagne in France and is thus appropriately named. The word ‘argent’ means ‘silver’ in French, here referring to the silver tipped edges of its whitish-blue fur.
