Description: The black, blue and white are the three breeds officially recognised, although lilac or brown coated rabbits are two further types that are found. These rabbits are incredibly rare. They have a mandolin-shaped body with a strong back and shoulders.

Characteristics
The Beveren is a highly intelligent and energetic rabbit. The does in particular are very docile and make excellent mothers to their large litters. This is a rabbit that enjoys the outdoors.

Grooming
This rabbit particularly likes to be stroked and so it is very important to pay special attention to them to ensure they remain comfortable and relaxed.

History
The Beveren rabbit is one of the largest and oldest fur rabbits and was first bred in the small town of Beveren in Belgium in the early 1900s. By the end of the First World War it was the most important fur rabbit.
