Characteristics
The Thuringer rabbit is known for having a very docile temperament and tolerant nature.

Grooming
The Thuringer needs to be brushed once a week and more frequently during shedding season.

History

Bred from Belgian Giants and ‘silver rabbits’ by David Gardener, the Thuringer rabbit is named after a small town called Thuringia. It was not an accepted breed until 1908, but the breed was later improved by Charles Maul when he crossbred Thuringers with grey giants.
