Appearance
As the name suggests, the Hairless rat has little to no fur on its body. Similarly to the Double Rex and the Rex rat, the Hairless Rat has curly whiskers. They have very soft skin which is warm to touch due to losing body heat through lack of fur and is soft like human skin.
Colouring
Comes in any colour variation.
Health.
Hairless rats have a weaker immune system compared to other rat varieties as they are lacking a thymus gland. On top of suffering from respiratory diseases, their lack of fur can lead to problems with eyesight, eye damage and dry, irritated skin as they have no fur to protect them. Regarding breeding, female rats also have problems lactating and will have problems adequately caring for their young. Hairless rats will also have more scabs and scratches and have naturally scabby tales.
Life Expectancy
1 - 3 years
History
The Hairless Rat became popular towards the latter end of the 19th century, though it has taken some time to breed a Hairless Rat as healthy and as strong as other varieties of rat.
