Lizards, crocodiles and turtles are all reptiles. In fact, there are over 8,000 species of reptiles in the world. All are air-breathing and generally cold blooded animals.
Lizards and snakes have a single sheet of overlapping scales whilst other reptiles have skin covered in scutes (bony plates or scales). The world of reptiles is large and varied which is why it’s wise to do as much research as possible before welcoming any sort of pet reptile into your home.
