Geckos are very popular and interesting pets. They are very calm, sweet reptiles and are quite simple to care for. They are small lizards that are indigenous to warmer climates and can be found in houses in certain countries around the world.

Geckos can live for up to 20 years, so it is necessary to ensure you are willing to undertake the responsibility of caring for one for such a long period of time. Geckos can be kept together, but male geckos will most likely fight and they require an adequately sized tank with plenty of places to hide.

Geckos are nocturnal, so will not require a UV light, but they will still need a spot in which they can bask beneath an appropriate incandescent light. Any good breeder will provide helpful information about the housing of your gecko.
Similarly to many reptiles, geckos often have a diet of insects, some that are not very pleasant.
