However, this may not be any less costly as your home will need thorough rabbit proofing. This means covering all loose wires, safely locking away any chemical or toxic products and ensuring your rabbit can't get itself stuck inside any nook and cranny. You will also need to train your rabbit to use a litter tray!

Pet rabbits can vary in size quite dramatically, too, so think carefully about what is appropriate for the particular breed you are buying. Most, if not all, rabbit breeds can be indoor rabbits, but if you choose the outdoor option, a decent sized rabbit hut is essential. You don't want to have to buy another hutch when your darling little mini lop outgrows the first one. Be very aware of how big your pet rabbit is going to get.
